Ravi is a 12-year-old boy living in Nandamuri Nagar, India. When Ravi was eight years old he developed a very high fever and lost sensation in his legs when fever subsided. Shortly after this incident, Ravi’s grandparents took him to a private hospital in Hyderabad. The doctor treating him advised that he undergo an expensive operation. Unable to handle the expense, his grandparents discontinued Ravi’s treatment. For more than three years Ravi was not treated. When HEAL started a school in the area, Ravi began attending.
